Spend a whole night held inside a field of live gongs, bowls and shamanic instruments, resting, dreaming and travelling through sound while the world outside sleeps. Our All Night Gong journeys at WhiteDove Sound Shala in Arambol, Goa are an invitation to surrender completely, let the nervous system reset and allow the body and spirit to be bathed in continuous healing vibration.
What Is the All Night Gong?
The All Night Gong is a seven‑hour ceremonial sound journey held in our secluded shala on the Pernem road in Arambol, surrounded by nature and away from the noise of town. Throughout the night we play a constellation of gongs, singing bowls, shaman drums, didgeridoo, flutes and subtle textures that weave together into an ever‑evolving soundscape designed for deep rest and inner exploration.
Unlike a standard 60–90 minute soundbath, this format gives your whole system time to drop layer by layer into profound stillness, dreamtime states and spontaneous visions. Participants often report powerful releases, lucid dreams, a sense of being gently “re‑tuned” and waking up with clarity, softness and renewed life force.
The Flow of the Night
We begin with a gentle arrival, tea and short introduction to the instruments, followed by an opening circle and intention setting so each person can name what they are calling in or releasing. After everyone settles onto mattresses with their blankets and pillows, we gradually open the field with singing bowls, chimes and voice before the first waves of gong sound slowly rise.
Through the night, the playing follows the energetic arc of the group: at times spacious and minimal, at times rich and orchestral, always responsive to what is present in the room. We work with the gongs in layers, sometimes focusing on low, grounding frequencies, sometimes invoking shimmering overtones and subtle harmonics that touch the more subtle bodies. Towards the end of the journey there is a dedicated period of complete silence to integrate, rest and let everything land before a gentle sunrise closing.
Why Spend a Whole Night in Sound?
Long‑form sound journeys have a unique capacity to reach levels of the psyche and the body that are rarely accessed in day‑to‑day life. Hours of continuous vibration invite the brainwaves to slow down into theta and delta states associated with deep meditation and sleep, while the body softens, unwinds and can finally “switch off” patterns of chronic tension.
Participants frequently describe:
- Deep physical relaxation and nervous system regulation
- Relief from stress, mental chatter and emotional heaviness
- Vivid dreams, insights and symbolic imagery
- A renewed sense of inspiration, gratitude and connection
The All Night Gong is not a performance to watch but a process to live through: you are welcome to sleep, drift, dream, meditate or simply listen. The sound holds you; your only task is to let go.
Practical Information & How to Prepare
The ceremony takes place at WhiteDove Sound Shala, a private sound temple space equipped specifically for this work. The shala has limited places so that everyone has enough space and the sound field remains intimate and clear.
We provide comfortable mattresses; you bring your own blanket, pillow, eye mask, warm layers and a refillable water bottle. Please arrive on time so we can settle together and start without rush. The space is strictly alcohol‑free, drug‑free and smoke‑free – we maintain a clear ceremonial field rooted in respect for the instruments, the land and each other.
